We have several customers that have a large network environment with hundreds of network devices such as routers, firewalls, IPS, switches, etc. To stay complient to ISO Security standards we change local passwords on these network devices every month. Instead of manually logging into each network device (used to take tens of hours), we use network automation. We use a combination of existing network management tools and custom scripts to automate this such that we set a scheduled activity that when triggered creats a random password, logs into each network device and updates the password. It also stores this password in our password vault so that our network engineer can access that password when needed to login to any one of the network device.
This is just one of the many use cases of network automation. The possibilities are endless. You just need to think what can/should be automated, and Spooster can make it happen for you.
